Born August 28, 1906 in Nagano Prefecture, Ichihara Takudō (Ichihara Keishichi) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Tsubamoto Kodō, Furukawa Kodō, and Miura Kindō. He started teaching in 1928. During a career that spanned more than 40 years, he received the Culture Award from Yokohama City in 1951, was chairman of the Yokohama Chikuei-kai and the director of the Yokohama Sankyoku Association.
